Today’s Lawn, Conifer, and Ash
This is today’s lawn on October 31, 2015. Though it is gradually getting brown depending on the place,
It is inevitable, because it’s already November tomorrow.
In the schedule, the warm season grasses such as Korai-Shiba (Zoysiagrass), including TM-9, do not require so much maintenance anymore.
On the other hand, this Ash (Griffith’s ash, Fraxinus griffithii) in front of the entrance now needs to be prepared for snow by Yuki-tsuri (snow hanging).
The conifers (Blue Angel) in the entrance also require Fuyu-gakoi (winter covering). Though I couldn’t do it because of other schedules today, I will prepare before it snows.

I’ve just started a blog of lawn. We built our new home and planted Korai-Shiba (Zoysiagrass, a Japanese lawn grass) in our backyard in 2010, and then replaced it to a low-maintenance Korai-Shiba, TM9, in 2013. The photo is my …

It’s March 1st, 2016. The lawn is completely under the snow again, because of the continuous snow for these 2 days. Conifers and ash in the entrance are also under the snow.
It’s going to be almost sunny for three days from tomorrow. The highest temperature on Saturday is 18 degrees Celsius. Can I burn the lawn???
As I wrote before, we built our new home and planted Korai-Shiba (Zoysiagrass) in our backyard in 2010 and then replaced it to a low-maintenance Korai-Shiba, TM9, in 2013. Though it is a personal experience, I will write the reason …

The weather is good and the sky is beautifully clear, though it is a little chilly. But it is not about lawn care today. I am preparing Fuyu-gakoi (winter covering) for the conifer and ash in the entrance. We live …
The lawn has got green gradually, despite I still can’t even burn the lawn. Earthworms have also came out. Weeds have also got increased. Pythium has also appeared. Too bad.
