The Fourth Mower, Ryobi Reel-Type Lawn Mower LM-2800
2016/04/17
This is our fourth mower, Ryobi reel-type lawn mower LM-2800. It came to our home on August 26, 2015. It is a universal machine, which can perform everything such as mowing, dethatching, vertical cutting (root cutting), as I introduced in a previous blog.
(Today, a successor model, LM-2810 is launched and took over these functions. The identical thatching blade (280 mm, 6731037) and root cutting blade (280 mm, 6077047) can be used in this successor model.)
The spinning blade is a reel type five-blade. The cutting width is 280 mm as obvious from the name of LM-2800. (However, the cutting width in the successor machine LM-2810 is still 280 mm which is unchanged.)
The cutting height is a continuous adjustment from 5 mm to 25 mm.
It can be stored compactly with the handle folded.
The work of the fourth Ryobi in our home is the edge trimming. Because we laid bricks around the lawn at ground level, we can cut right over the edge with a standard mower.
This is around the tile terrace.
This is inside the concrete blocks in the base of the fence in the other side. All the surrounding of the lawn is edged with brick.
The Ryobi also does a good job here. To tell the truth, the Baroness can perform this work as well. Actually, the first Ryobi and the second Husqvarna performed both the mowing of the entire yard and the trimming of the edge, simultaneously by one machine. But the edge trimming involve a danger.
In the photo, you can see the scratches which were made by concrete blocks when I used Baroness for the first time. (Though they might be difficult to be recognized without close watch, this damage in the first use was a considerable shock for me.) In addition, in a low cutting height, the blades may be damaged by hitting the bricks. I can’t do such a work with my precious Baroness.
For these reasons, these three machines are operating currently in our home. They will spend the winter together in our living room from now.
