The weather is good and the sky is beautifully clear, though it is a little chilly. But it is not about lawn care today.
I am preparing Fuyu-gakoi (winter covering) for the conifer and ash in the entrance. We live in snow country in Hokuriku (means north land) region. Though we do not have a heavy snowfall like it used to be these days, we cannot avoid preparing for it.
This spring, we removed Fuyu-gakoi because the snow had melted away; however, there was a big snow after that, which weighed down the conifer in the left of the photo from the root. So I placed the stakes in the photo, tied the tree with a rope, and raised it again, promptly.
Today’s processes for the conifers are as follows. Place three bamboo poles in the ground and tie their top to fix them. Now it is being finished by wrapping a net around the poles and tying with a rope; however,
when I tried to use the left over net wrap, it didn’t have enough length. I will buy the net and wrap it again later.
I placed supporting poles for ash too. Though they are difficult to be seen in a front view,
They look like this in a back view. Place three bamboo poles in the ground, tie their top to fix them, in a same way as for the conifers, and then,
tie the trunk of ash to the poles.
Again, before the installation,
and after it. The Fuyu-gakoi created a wintry atmosphere. It looks like that I can finish the preparation before it snows.
